King Crab Safari
The world's largest crab in ice-cold Arctic waters
Catch, cook and taste the world's largest edible crab straight from the Barents Sea.
The king crab in the Barents Sea can weigh up to 15 kg and have legs spanning over one metre. Originally from the Pacific Ocean, it was introduced into Russian waters in the 1960s – today it is a world-class delicacy and attraction.
In winter, the trip takes you out onto the ice, where you get to try your hand at fishing in true Arctic style. In summer, safari tours depart by boat, with views across the open Barents Sea.
The highlight is the meal afterwards – freshly cooked king crab prepared by your guides, enjoyed outdoors or in a warm lavvo tent.
